CUSTOM WORK
Not every space calls for a standard solution. From custom doors and interior windows to cabinetry, built-ins, and architectural details, each project is approached with creativity, collaboration, and close attention to how a space should look, feel, and function—finding ways to bring more light, openness, warmth, flexibility, and purpose into the everyday experience of a home.
CABINETS
Custom Baltic birch cabinetry designed and built to maximize storage while celebrating the warmth and natural character of the material.
From full custom builds to thoughtful refacing and refinishing, I approach cabinetry as one of the most transformative elements in a space. Depending on the needs of the project, that can mean a complete rebuild, carefully working with what already exists, or finding ways to improve function, materials, and overall aesthetic without unnecessary waste.
One of my favorite materials for custom cabinetry is Baltic birch plywood, valued for its beautiful natural grain and distinctive multi-ply edge detail. Durable, warm, and highly architectural in feel, it brings both craftsmanship and character into a space. Because it’s also heavy and costly, I often help clients explore other approaches—including refacing, custom fronts, painting, and refinishing—that can achieve a similarly transformative result in a more practical and cost-effective way.
Whether building from scratch, resurfacing existing cabinetry, or carefully refinishing what’s already there, my focus is always on creating cabinetry that feels intentional, well-crafted, and integrated into the home as a whole.
DOORS
Custom built and/or Custom Installation
Custom pine closet doors and handcrafted pulls showcase the beauty of natural wood grain, turning everyday storage into a distinctive architectural feature.
Paired with custom entry door installation with frosted glass and transom, introducing abundant natural light while maintaining a sense of privacy and enclosure.
Custom-fabricated transom window designed and built to bring natural light deeper into the space while creating a stronger architectural presence at the entrance.
Before
Carefully removing a wall and rebuilding the opening with custom structural framing to create tri-fold doors that shift seamlessly between open living and private guest use.
I approach custom doors as both architectural and functional elements—something that can completely change how a space moves, feels, and adapts to daily life. Every project is different, so the solution is never one-size-fits-all. Depending on the needs of the space, that can mean designing custom bifold or tri-fold doors, oversized openings, sliding systems, or more traditional built doors tailored specifically to the proportions and character of the home.
Some projects are about flexibility—creating privacy when needed while still allowing a space to remain open and connected the rest of the time. Others are more sculptural or architectural in nature, using materials, hardware, and proportion to create a stronger visual presence within the room itself.
Whether simple or highly custom, my focus is always on building doors that feel intentional, well-crafted, and fully integrated into the way the space is actually used.
Transforming an existing entry with a new door system designed to bring more light, improve proportion, and create a cleaner architectural presence while respecting the original character of the building.
After
CLOSETS
Closets should feel integrated into the home—not like afterthoughts. Depending on the space and the needs of the client, that can mean designing fully custom built-ins, improving storage and organization, refacing existing elements, or creating cleaner, more efficient solutions that maximize both function and visual calm.
Every project is approached differently. Some closets are highly minimal and architectural, designed to blend seamlessly into the room, while others become more expressive material features through the use of wood grain, custom shelving, hardware, lighting, or thoughtful interior detailing. The focus is always on creating storage that feels intuitive, durable, and tailored to the way the space is actually used.
Whether building from scratch or reworking an existing layout, I look for ways to bring more order, openness, and cohesion into the home through carefully considered design and craftsmanship.
INTERIOR
WINDOWS
Interior windows can completely shift the feeling of a space—bringing in light, creating openness, and establishing a stronger visual connection between rooms without fully removing separation or privacy. Each one is designed specifically for the architecture and needs of the home, whether the goal is to brighten a darker room, improve flow, or introduce a more distinctive architectural feature.
Projects can range from fabricated steel frames to more custom material-driven solutions using wood, plexiglass, or mixed materials. In one project, I designed a custom interior kitchen window using a fabricated metal structure wrapped in layered plywood edging that intentionally revealed the natural strata of the wood. The window allowed light from an adjoining room to travel deep into the kitchen while becoming a design feature in its own right. Another client later adapted the same concept into a wider vertical composition for a completely different space and feel.
I’ve also created transom-style interior windows above doors and other custom openings designed to bring natural light further into a home while adding architectural rhythm and detail. Whether minimal or more sculptural, the goal is always to create something that feels intentional, functional, and fully integrated into the surrounding space.
BUILT-INS
Custom Baltic birch shelving and window casings designed to bring warmth, rhythm, and architectural continuity to the space while framing natural light throughout the room.
Custom-built kitchen module with butcher block countertop inlay. The module was designed to combine storage, open shelving, workspace, and spatial division within a compact footprint while maintaining light and openness throughout the room.
Transforming an underused closet into a compact custom workspace with built-in shelving, storage, and integrated work surface designed specifically for small-space living.
Built-ins can completely change the way a space functions—especially in apartments or smaller homes where every inch matters. I design custom solutions that feel integrated into the architecture itself, whether that means creating compact office spaces inside existing closets, wall-mounted desks, custom shelving, storage benches, media units, or multi-purpose storage designed specifically around the way a client lives and works.
Some projects are designed to disappear seamlessly into the room, while others become stronger architectural features through the use of wood, proportion, and material detail. The goal is always to create something that feels intentional, efficient, and visually connected to the surrounding space rather than added on as an afterthought.
By approaching each project individually, I’m able to tailor built-ins to the exact dimensions, limitations, and possibilities of a space—bringing more functionality, organization, and flexibility into everyday living.
